Using blockchain technology to verify charity donations, incentivize donors, and highlight philanthropic impact.

Non-profits and charities often operate in sensitive, politically charged environments with high stakes. When donors generously contribute, they want to verify that their contributions directly reach the intended recipients and create real, tangible change. The paramount challenge in the realm of philanthropy and charitable contributions, particularly during global humanitarian crises, is ensuring the verification, authenticity, and trustworthiness of donations and their subsequent impact.

To address this, I’ve developed Hoot, starting with the Hoot dashboard — a groundbreaking platform that allows philanthropists and donors to meticulously track the trajectory of each donation, ensuring transparency and trust. Leveraging the power of blockchain technology, Hoot ensures that every donation’s journey is transparently mapped out, right from initiation to the final impact.

I designed the platform to integrate data from Etherscan, presenting it in an intuitive visual format for donors and philanthropic entities. In addition, the Hoot dashboard offers customizable experiences, enabling donors to witness specific milestones or events their contributions have facilitated. For instance, a donor to the World Wildlife Fund could pinpoint the exact panda their donation has aided.

Hoot provides transparency and incentives for the philanthropy space.

Transparency: The Hoot dashboard eradicates uncertainties in the donation process, offering donors unparalleled visibility into the impact of their contributions.

Incentivization: By integrating a custom UI badge system, Hoot fosters a sense of accomplishment and pride among donors. As contributors accumulate a track record of their philanthropic endeavors within the platform, this social proof transforms giving into a tangible, shareable journey, effectively turning social good verification into a new form of social media.
